How do children choose glasses?

When choosing glasses for children, the first thing to look at is whether they are stable and comfortable to wear, then choose the appropriate size and shape based on the thickness of the lenses, and finally, consider the appearance.

(1) What kind of frames can be worn firmly?

Whether the frame is worn securely is mainly considered from the following three aspects: Nose pads: The plastic pads on the frame that are in contact with the nose. When choosing, pay attention to whether the nose pads can be stably supported on the bridge of the nose and will not slip off when bowing or shaking your head. For children with relatively low noses or long eyelashes, it is better to choose glasses with movable nose pads, because they can be adjusted as needed. Mirror ring: The size of the mirror ring mainly determines the size of the glasses. If the mirror ring exceeds the face, it will be too large, and the larger mirror ring will not be able to be worn easily. If the mirror ring is too small, the temples on both sides will be opened. The fit is too tight and uncomfortable. Temples: Glasses design suitable for children, the temples should be submissive to the skin on the side of the face, or leave a little space to prevent the glasses from becoming too small due to the rapid development of children. For frames that can be adjusted, we can adjust the bending point behind the temples, which can make the wearing more stable; for frames that cannot be adjusted, ear hooks are placed behind the temples, but the premise is that the sizes of the frames are relatively comparable. Appropriate, for too large or too small frames, even with ear hooks, the effect is not ideal.

(2) What kind of frame is more comfortable to wear?

There is no doubt that the lighter the frame is, the more comfortable it is to wear. For example, the titanium frame and the TR90 frame are currently relatively light frames. In addition to the weight of the frame, the appropriate frame should also be selected according to the degree of the child. For the safety and firmness of the frame, it is recommended that children wear the full frame. Low power - no need to think too much about the size of the frame, as long as the child is the right size and comfortable to wear. Middle height - it is necessary to combine the size of the frame with the interpupillary distance. What is the size of the frame? It is the size of the frame marked on the temple. The sum of the 2 numbers is 2~4 larger than the interpupillary distance, which can be considered as a more suitable specification for the size of the frame.

(3) What kind of glasses look more beautiful?

We usually choose frames according to children's skin color, face shape, personality and other characteristics. However, it should be noted that special diopter, such as high hyperopia, high myopia, high astigmatism, etc., after the lens is processed, will affect the overall appearance of the glasses. For children with heights, we recommend resin sheets first, and choose lenses with different refractive indices according to different degrees: Low power (below 3.00D): 1.50 and 1.56 lenses can be selected; Moderate degree (3.00-6.00D): 1.56 and 1.60 lenses can be selected; Height (above 6.00D): basically choose a lens of 1.60 and above. It should be noted that custom-made lenses are generally recommended for highly hyperopic lenses (above +6.00D), because they can be made into special lens diameters, so that the lenses will be thinner and the overall effect will be better after matching.
